Carwash - Need to know
A favourite cenote of lots of photographers because of the light and colours. Carwash is a short drive west of Tulum and it got its name because taxi drivers used the cenote to wash their cars as it is close to the road. The cenote is also called Aktun Ha which in Mayan means "Cave Water". The cenote changes considerably with the seasons, algae blooms, lily pads, and the occasional sighting of a friendly caiman. There is also ancient Mayan pottery to be seen.
This dive is good for all divers; from novices to experienced divers. The dive has a max depth of 14 metres and it offers us the chance to enter two cavern entrances.
